Who we are
Izzy and Bear offers quality pet care services for dogs, cats and other small animals. Serving downtown Birmingham, Forest Park, Homewood, Mountain Brook, Vestavia and Irondale, we are a small select team of dedicated pet care professionals with a genuine passion for animals both small and large. Izzy and Bear specializes in dog walking and offers on leash dog walks on a regular as well as an as-needed basis. We have worked in veterinary clinics, dog daycare and dog boarding facilities and are experienced in handling a wide variety of dog breeds ranging from Chihuahuas to Mastiffs—at Izzy and Bear size doesn’t matter. We understand canine behavior and are known for our ability to handle dogs of varying temperaments and needs. We also reinforce basic obedience commands and leash etiquette as part of our walking service. Whether it is walks around the neighborhood, to the park, or playing in the back yard we ensure that your canine companion gets plenty of exercise, play and lots of attention.
Izzy and Bear can also help when you are traveling or when illness or other things temporarily interfere with your ability to care for your pet. At Izzy and Bear we promise to treat your pets with the same care and attention we give our own.
Our Team
TAYLOR has experience caring for dogs, cats, horses, lizards, snakes…the list goes on. She was a biology lab assistant throughout high school and spent summers teaching campers equine care and safety. She continued classes in Biology as well as equine care and animal husbandry. She is noted for her ability to handle difficult or aggressive dogs that are not suitable for doggy daycare and is actively involved in obedience training and working with rescue dogs. In addition to her own pets, Taylor is a foster mom to both dogs and cats and finds it difficult not to adopt each and every one.
MOLLY has had dogs since she was little and is well on her way to being the neighborhood ‘dog lady.’ She happily offers to take care of her friends’ dogs just so she can lavish them with lots of love and attention. Molly thinks pets—and especially dogs—can be therapeutic and will put your pet’s well-being first and foremost. Molly also handles all the IzzyandBear bookkeeping and accounts.
JILL takes care of all the administrative stuff. A lover of animals since she can remember, Jill works behind the scenes to make sure that all the details are handled so the Izzy and Bear team can focus on what is really important—your pet. Jill has two dogs she takes with her whenever she can and her ideal world is one where pets are welcome everywhere.

How to get your dog walking!
If this is your first time introducing your pet to Izzy and Bear, we will make sure that it is stress free. Let us know which pet services you are interested in and any special circumstances–such as age, medication or other issues—that you think we should know. We can customize a feeding, exercise and training schedule to fit your pet’s needs.
